Asociación de Productores de Café de Atitlán (APROCAFE Atitlán) Shade-Grown Sustainable Coffee.

APROCAFE is a co-operative of 30 coffee producers in San Pedro La Laguna on the southwest shores of Lake Atitlán in the state of Chimaltenango, Guatemala. The farmers adhere to strict organic growing and processing practices, and all harvesting is done by hand.  Organic farming methods of applying worm-created compost to the soil and adhering to strict water treatment are ways the members ensure the health of the farms, lands, trees, and the lake.

Coffee grown in this region has a clean sweetness and sparkling acidity from a combination of the rich volcanic soil, high elevation, cool average temperatures, and plenty of rain.
